Lloyds Current-Account Statements to Excel: PDF-to-CSV Checks
Updated · 5 min read
Choose a current-account cash record and the correct channel’s archive. This guide covers the UK product and the task described below.
The desktop apps export date, description, and amount as CSV. Open CSV in Excel to save an XLSX workbook. Statement support varies: verify the result against your own PDF.
Establish the personal-account source
Lloyds’ statement guide describes different browser and app archive windows and a separate credit-card PDF route. For this guide, select the current-account document covering the required cash period. The download guide helps establish that original. Do not infer a personal CSV button from Commercial Banking Online documentation; this source does not verify one. If your own account offers a suitable native file, inspect it first.
This workflow is for a personal current-account cash table, not credit-card debt, investments or every Lloyds account product. Retain the issued original. No real Lloyds layout, native export headers or LocalExtract result was tested. Where only PDF is available, manually transcribe or trial local extraction, then verify the rows before using them.
A card repayment is a cash outflow, not a second purchase
A payment sent from the current account to a card reduces that current account’s cash. On the card, the credited payment reduces the amount owed. Those signs describe different balances; neither entry is an additional card purchase. Keep account identity and analysis purpose in a manual register before combining spending.
| Invented record | Chosen sign | Appropriate check |
|---|---|---|
| Current-account salary receipt, 250 units | Positive cash | Current-account cycle |
| Current-account payment to card, 100 units | Negative cash | Current-account cycle |
| Card payment credited, 100 units | Negative amount owed | Separate card cycle |
| Card purchase, 40 units | Positive amount owed | Separate card cycle |
The exercise illustrates meanings, not bank output. A cash-flow workbook can legitimately include the card-payment outflow. A purchase-spending workbook must classify that settlement so the same spending is not counted once as a card purchase and again as a current-account transfer. Do not add a card’s opening liability to a current account’s opening cash balance and call the result reconciled cash.
Create a three-field current-account view
Use the date meaning in the actual source for each posted movement, not the PDF download date. Keep a second relevant date, source alias or classification in additional manual columns. The following is an invented cash example:
date,description,amount
2026-09-01,Example salary,250.00
2026-09-02,"Example card repayment, cash account",-100.00
2026-09-03,Example fee,-10.00
In Excel use Data → From Text/CSV, inspect comma separation, date interpretation and numeric decimal amounts, then load. Consult Microsoft’s guide and RFC 4180 for quoted descriptions. Save XLSX from Excel after verifying; it is separate from the PDF converter’s CSV export.
For comparable figures, opening cash plus signed movements should equal closing cash for the same account, currency and cycle. If it differs, check omitted fees, signs, pages, dates and duplicate imports. Do not create an adjustment transaction merely to make it balance. A matching total still does not verify every row’s date or description.
Check the method with invented records
We recomputed three deliberately constructed cases on October 11, 2026 using decimal arithmetic: complete rows, an omitted fee and a duplicated movement. The reference total and every number are invented. This checks the reconciliation method only: no bank account, real PDF, OCR result or LocalExtract output was tested. The same learning aid is used across these guides.
| Case | Calculated closing total | Difference from reference |
|---|---|---|
| Complete rows | 1140 | 0 |
| Fee omitted | 1150 | 10 |
| Movement duplicated | 1040 | -100 |
Illustrative units, not a real account balance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this establish a personal Lloyds CSV menu?
No. Commercial banking guides do not prove the personal route. Inspect any native file actually offered by your account before using PDF.
Why is a card repayment negative here?
This table measures current-account cash leaving the account. A card’s credited payment is a separate liability entry.
Can I combine cash and card balances?
Keep their reconciliation separate. Their balances and sign meanings differ; deliberate consolidated analysis needs explicit classification.
Is the sample a Lloyds statement conversion?
No. It is an invented method example. No bank layout, real PDF or app output was tested.
If PDF is the relevant source
LocalExtract processes one PDF at a time on the device and exports CSV with date, description, amount. Parsing and OCR do not require uploading the statement. This is a working table that needs comparison with the original; no bank compatibility was validated here. There is no direct XLSX, QBO or OFX export, bulk queue or automatic accounting sync. To obtain XLSX, import the checked CSV and save from Excel.
The free evaluation covers ten pages in total. Pro is USD 10/month or USD 60/year. Account, subscription, update and periodic Pro checks need network access. See downloads and product scope.
Sources and verification scope
Public official guidance checked October 11, 2026. Account controls, document availability and bank layouts were not authenticated-tested. The method exercises use invented records, not actual bank samples or measured extraction results.
Updated October 11, 2026: Added task-specific source decisions, date/amount examples and CSV import checks. No bank format or app output was validated.
Select the actual current-account cash cycle, record the meaning of repayments and verify the working CSV against its original before saving a workbook.
