What We Build
LocalExtract converts bank statement PDFs into structured CSV and Excel files — entirely on your device. No files are uploaded to any server. No account required to get started. The application runs natively on macOS and Windows.
We built LocalExtract because bookkeepers, accountants, and small business owners handle sensitive financial documents daily and deserve a conversion tool that doesn't require trusting a third-party cloud service with their clients' data.
Our Mission
Bank statement data should be easy to work with and private by default. We believe that processing sensitive documents locally — without uploading them to a cloud service — is the right approach for financial professionals subject to client confidentiality obligations and regulations like the FTC Safeguards Rule.
How It Works
LocalExtract uses a combination of PDF parsing and on-device OCR (PP-OCRv5 via ONNX Runtime) to extract transaction data from both digital and scanned bank statement PDFs. The extraction engine is written in Rust for performance and accuracy. Results are exported as CSV or Excel files compatible with QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and standard spreadsheet software.
