HSBC Australia: statements during the retail exit

Updated · 2 min read

The desktop apps export date, description, and amount as CSV. Open CSV in Excel to save an XLSX workbook. Statement support varies: verify the result against your own PDF.

Use the statement archive instead of the short activity view

Sign in to Online Banking, choose the account under My accounts, open Manage, then View/Download Statements and the required period. The banking FAQ distinguishes up to 90 days of recent transactions from up to seven years of historical PDF statements. PDF means Portable Document Format. The shorter activity display is not a seven-year archive search.

The FAQ also confirms statement downloading through the app; this guide uses the explicitly documented web controls rather than assuming identical app menus.

Check which exit notice applies

The bank-account changes FAQ says existing transaction/savings accounts continue for now, with later product-specific notices; new accounts are no longer offered. This is a guide for existing customers retrieving records.

The 9 October 2026 consumer-card FAQ gives 17 November 2026 as the final transaction date and 18 November as cancellation. Those dates concern consumer credit cards, not every Australian deposit account. Consumer-card closure FAQ.

Distinguish cancellation from account closure

The card notice says app/web account access, including statements, continues while the account remains open. It closes once the balance is zero and no pending items remain. A cancelled card and a closed account are therefore different states; this notice does not establish a post-account-closure retrieval window. Save useful originals while access remains. Account access after card cancellation.

For HSBC Australia, save available records while the account is open and apply the credit-card exit dates only to the affected card product.

Use the record planner to record your chosen route and the outstanding document period.

For spreadsheet preparation, use the CSV (Comma-Separated Values) guide. LocalExtract processes one PDF locally to date, description, amount CSV; XLSX (Excel workbook format) is saved in Excel. Verify the output. Downloads.

Official sources checked October 14, 2026; exit notices are time-sensitive.
